The Winery Series is making everyone rethink craft winemaking

Since the introduction of Cellar Classic’s Winery Series, winemakers across the country have been singing its praises as one the best wine kits available on the market today. “We’ve been pleased with the response to The Winery Series from our customers,” says Iain and Shannon, owners of Blanshard Street Winery in Victoria, BC, who have been in business for over 20 years. “It has elevated the quality of the wine our customers are enjoying, and for those who have switched, there is no looking back.”

RJS Craft Winemaking’s commitment to innovation in craft winemaking is reflected in these products, while respecting the age-old winemaking traditions as practised in the finest wine regions of the world. What makes the 18 ultra-premium kits available in the Winery Series different is a combination of top quality varietal juice from the best vineyards and first-class winemaking ingredients that deliver the best wine flavours and aromas.

Success of the Winery Series

CrateVlad of Ein Stein Wine House in Oakville, Ontario was an early fan of the new Winery Series products. “I brought in the Chile Malbec and the Italy Pinot Grigio when they first released. From the first taste, I knew they were going to be a hit with my customers, both the occasional winemakers and our seasoned aficionados.” Vlad proved himself right. Before too long, Winery Series was the most popular kit in the premium category, with it likely becoming the lead brand in the entire line-up.

One of the newest and now most popular is the Winemaker’s Trio, a perfect blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Zinfandel grape varieties. This new world style red has a nicely integrated balance of tannins and acidity. It features vanilla, red berries, and black cherry on the nose and the sweet flavours of ripe raspberry, chocolate, and cherry on the palate.

“The quality of the wet skins has contributed greatly to the success of the Winery Series reds,” says Iain and Shannon of Blanshard Street Winery. “With the introduction and our promotion of the new Winery Series Winemakers Trio, we sold well over 250 units in one month!” All of the red wines in the Cellar Classic Winery Series are made with GenuWine Winery Crushed Grape Skins. Fermenting on these skins contributes to an authentic winemaking experience, adding increased complexity, deeper colour, and chewier tannins.

The Many Varieties to Choose From

Winery Series BottlesCraft winemakers are also enjoying many other red wines in the Winery Series. The Australia Cab is joined by two others from the region including a full-bodied Cabernet Shiraz, and a medium-bodied Pinot Noir bursting with flavour. As impressive are the series from Italy including a Zinfandel, Valpola, and Amarone style. Rounding out the reds are some other popular Chilean and Spanish wines.

The Winery Series whites are just as impressive. The Italy Pinot Grigio is a refreshing light-bodied wine with wonderful citrus, floral and pear opening notes and a crisp citrus, green apple finish. All whites include specially selected yeast strains that highlight varietal characteristics.

In December 2014 Winemaker Magazine named 10 different Cellar Classic Winery Series kits in their top 100 wine kits of 2014. These products also performed well at the 2014 Winemaker Magazine Amateur Winemaker competition – winning over 50 medals including 13 gold.

Cellar Classic Winery Series takes the fun and affordable hobby of craft winemaking to the next level.
